There now seems to be more reason to believe that a big Nintendo Direct is coming very soon.

Multiple game journalists have traveled to New York (Steve from GVG, Blessing from KindaFunny).
Andy from VGC also teased his travel by showing his Nintendo passport holder.
My friend, RogersBase is also traveling.
I’m starting to get the feeling Nintendo is having press events this week.
For those who don’t know, Nintendo has a flagship store called Nintendo New York, located in 10 Rockefeller Plaza.
The store is known for being the filming location for Nintendo Directs, as well as for hosting press events for Nintendo games. This is a reason these trips to New York hint at a Nintendo press event.
Nate The Hate recently claimed that Nintendo has a big Nintendo Direct planned for February 5. There’s a huge chance that these press events will coincide with the Direct.
We don’t know what Nintendo could announce yet, but the potential is high for a really big event. Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Animal Crossing, and Metroid all have anniversaries this year.
