Rumor: You Could Get Red Dead Redemption 2 Free Very Soon

December 15, 2025 by Ryan Parreno

You may want to keep coming back for free games after this too.

It sounds like you could get a chance to get Red Dead Redemption 2 free very, very soon.

The Game Verse shared this rumor on Twitter earlier today:

LEAK: EPIC Games Store Free Christmas Giveaways Leaked, includes RDR2.

– Hogwarts Legacy (Dec 11)

– Jurassic World: Evolution 2 (Dec 18)

– Desperados 3 (Dec 19)

– Total War: Warhammer (Dec 20)

– Tropico 5 (Dec 21)

– Chicken Police – Paint it Red! (Dec 22)

– Loop Hero (Dec 23)

– Lego Batman (Dec 24)

– Commander Keane (Dec 25)

– Farming Simulator 2022 (Dec 26)

– Slime Rancher 2 (Dec 27)

– Terraria (Dec 28)

– Detroit: Become Human (Dec 29)

– Mortal Kombat 11 (Dec 30)

– Red Dead Redemption 2 (Dec 31)

While The Game Verse did not share their source, this likely came from datamining. And it would make sense that Epic Game Store had their giveaway lined up well in advance. So this list is probably real, though they could still make changes at the last minute.

What You Need To Know To Claim Red Dead Redemption 2 And Fourteen Other Games

The main thing is you will need to set up an Epic Game Store account. If you don’t have one yet, you can register for one here.

You can register an account using your email, or a PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo account. You can also connect to your PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo account after the fact.

You will then have to install and set up the Epic Game Store launcher on a Windows PC. Afterwards, you can claim the games Epic gives away using either the launcher or by logging online on a web browser on any device.

You can always check and claim what games Epic is giving away here. Of course, you can skip on any game you aren’t interested in for whatever reason.

You can claim free games on Epic using the same process as you would buying a game on the Epic Game Store. The games will simply come up as free while the giveaway is on.

You may also want to keep checking for free games on Epic Game Store even after the Red Dead Redemption 2 giveaway ends. Epic has now made it a regular practice to give away games on a weekly basis.

Some weeks they will repeat games that have already been given away, but that’s a good thing if you’ve decided to do this for the first time.

You’ll need a Windows PC with the minimum specs to play Red Dead Redemption 2, of course, but on the off chance, you can also claim this game now to play it in a PC you will get sometime in the future.
