Rumor: Rockstar Could Revive Cancelled Content In Grand Theft Auto Online: A Safehouse In The Hills

December 8, 2025 by Ryan Parreno

These could be a bigger deal than it appears at first glance.

A fan has raised an interesting piece of speculation: could Rockstar bring back cancelled content in Grand Theft Auto Online: A Safehouse In The Hills?

Lucas7yoshi shared this in Twitter yesterday:

In GTA Online, there was going to be various activities within your apartment, including:

  • Sit Ups
  • Push Ups
  • Teeth Brushing
  • Makeup
  • Washing hands
  • Washing face
  • Styling hair

… With what we’ve seen of the mansions we may be getting these at long last. Although given how long its been i doubt they’ve really reused any over a decade old code for it lol

He also clarified with a fan that Rockstar is more likely to make brand new code for these activities instead of reusing old code from 2013 or older.

How Far Will Rockstar Take Grand Theft Auto Online The Life Sim?

If Lucas7yoshi is correct, your game of Grand Theft Auto Online could end up being even more of a life simulation than it already is. Of course, it’s a life simulation where you can engage in crimes at different levels of violence and illegality, but it’s still possible to make comparisons to the likes of Second Life and The Sims.

If Rockstar adds these ‘activities’, they may have to consider if these are consequential actions. For example, if you skip your in-game morning rituals every morning, should you look disheveled? Or should Rockstar just reward players who take the effort by making their characters look extra attractive?

Subsequently, it would be interesting if you can make your character work out to develop their muscles. That could mean changing your body composition could be an actual game mechanic.

If Rockstar adds all of these as non-consequential actions, some players may be fine with that. It would be OK for some of them if it’s just used for casual role-playing in the game.

But you may not have realized how big a deal adding these seemingly insignificant activities could be. Rockstar could lean in and make these activities come with consequences for players who use – or don’t use – them.

However Rockstar plays this, we imagine GTA RP players will want to experiment with these activities for their servers even further than what Rockstar is willing to do. So this could also all be interesting for the GTA RP community.

It would certainly be surprising if Rockstar went this far when Grand Theft Auto Online on Grand Theft Auto V could be abandoned soon. But Rockstar may have planned it as the culmination and grand farewell to Grand Theft Auto Online.
