It Turns Out Grand Theft Auto 6 Ads Already Hit Times Square Months Ago

October 30, 2025 by Ryan Parreno

Advertising that literally flew by fans’ noses.

It turns out Rockstar did start some real life advertising for Grand Theft Auto 6, after these past few weeks that fans were looking for it.

Gameroll first found a small clip of it, but removed his original tweet about it. He posted this statement to replace that tweet:

UPDATE: I deleted the GTA 6 billboard post because more discoveries came to light (and Twitter is stupid and won’t let me edit it.)

The footage isn’t recent – it seems to be from right after Trailer 2 dropped.

HOWEVER, it’s still the first time I’ve ever seen a GTA 6 ad spotted in public. So I think it’s pretty sick still.

Apologies if the previous post got you hyped (trust me I was too) but I still think this is an awesome discovery worthy of a post. Rockstar have been marketing the game under our noses by the looks of it.

A fellow Rockstar YouTuber Vitor Rossignoli replied to GameRoll with this statement:

I can confirm this isn’t new. I saw it a few months ago. I’ve never seen anyone talk about it, though.

But this video is from May, 31. They made it a few days after Trailer 2.

But now, we can tell you where this small clip really came from.

The Strangest Source For Grand Theft Auto Media Ever

Manhunt is an Austrian reality show that started in February last year. TVDB provides this description of the show:

Manhunt – the new YouTube series with the biggest and toughest chase ever! Players must flee from a task force and go into hiding without food, money or drink in their backpacks. Who will be discovered next? Which content creator will be caught? Which hunters will track down the hunted and catch them? All 100% real, no script, no camera teams!

The first season was filmed in Vienna, and went online from February to March 2024. The second season was filmed in Bangkok, and went online from November 2024 to January of this year.

This clip came from the first episode of the latest season, which just went online. As you may imagine, this show was filmed well in advance.

The production team, of course, needed time to edit and submit the episodes for approval. But on top of that, they didn’t want to spoil a reality show.

So, like Rossignoli claims, this show was filmed all the way back in May 2025. That was around the same time we got the second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer.

What’s wild is New Yorkers apparently didn’t catch this LED billboard and share it for a whole six months. Maybe that reflects how Times Square just lets too many ads pass by too quickly.

But this suggests there could have also been other advertising for Grand Theft Auto 6 that the fans haven’t caught at all. Maybe the Rockstar community could make an ARG of finding more of these ads, instead of making up baseless rumors about when Trailer 3 will come out.
