Some fans are now trying to look for some hype to generate for Grand Theft Auto 6 – but this appears to be more speculation than a real rumor.

GTA 6 Countdown made this claim on Twitter:
Rockstar Games might’ve teased GTA 6 Trailer 3’s date, as Jason’s digital watch shows a specific number “11:08” which points to November 8.
This date also marks the first trailer’s announcement anniversary.
Additionally, the next earnings call takes place on November 6, so it’s more likely that we’ll get an announcement either before or after the call.
For the sake of clarity, GTA 6 Countdown is referring to a moment from the second trailer. We have timestamped it for you here.
In this scene, Jason shakes down one of Brian Heder’s ‘contacts.’ When Jason opens a cash register, you can see the time on his watch.
The Community Pushes Back On This Ill-Timed Rumor
GTABase responded to this rumor with this tweet:
This is unlikely.
A more reasonable explanation is that this is when the scene in the trailer takes place, or at least a time where the location had the best sun position for the lighting to look good.
Videotechuk, another member of the Grand Theft Auto community who has proven to be a reliable source, responded to GTABase with this:
Why do people… rely on that account… for news… it’s all misinformation
What If The Rumor Is Correct?
On the off chance that GTA 6 Countdown turned out to be correct, it would be the case of someone stumbling upon the answer without doing the right homework.
To believe that Rockstar revealed the next trailer date like this hinges on the idea that Rockstar has planned the next seven months of promotion in the leadup to Grand Theft Auto 6’s release this May.
But that would then have to contend with the game’s delay to next year. Everyone understands a good hype train could keep fans excited.
But if they’re busy finishing the game, why would they spend more time working on the promotions? Would that not delay the game even further?
It also doesn’t pass another credibility test. If Rockstar wants to get fans excited with trailers, why would they insert a clue for fans to find out the next date? Would it not make more sense to keep that close to their chest?
The only thing this rumor has going for it is the date is close to Rockstar’s next financial meeting. But we don’t have to wait that long to see that there’s no credible proof for this argument at all.
