Alan Wake Coming to North American Retail April 3

March 12, 2012 by Josh Harmon

This is probably the last Alan Wake release date we’ll ever report. It’s the end of an era.

After a brief delay, Remedy Entertainment and Nordic Games have finally found a US publishing partner for the PC version of Alan Wake. Thanks to a new deal with Legacy Interactive, the game will finally be available in North American retailers on April 3.

Now, I understand if you're a bit confused about the whole situation, given that Alan Wake has had no fewer than eight different release dates, so I've thrown together a helpful FAQ to help you sort through everything:

Didn't Alan Wake come out, like, two years ago?

Yeah, but that was the Xbox 360 version of the game. We're talking about the PC version.

Well, wasn't that released back in February?

Well, yes again, but that was the digital PC version. This is the physical copy, you know, box and disc.

Now I know you're messing with me. The boxed PC version came out two weeks ago.

Only in Europe. Remedy couldn't find a publisher partner in North America, so they had to delay the physical release here.

My head hurts.

Mine too, dear reader. Mine too.
