PlayStation Plus subscribers who are on at least the Extra tier are given access to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. That alone might be enough to persuade you to make the jump from the Essential tier. However, what’s a little more enticing is that this Game Catalog for the month of August is getting some really nice titles to play. If you have missed out on these games, then do yourself a favor and check them out this week.
Thanks to the official PlayStation Blog, we got a breakdown of the new snazzy games coming into the service for the month of August. It’s a nice wide range of games to hopefully pique your attention, no matter if you like the fast-paced web slinging action of Spider-Man or the brutal fatalities from a reimagined Mortal Kombat video game experience.

We also listed the Premium Game Catalog for August 2025 above. If you have a subscription to PlayStation Plus Premium, then Sony does offer a few classic games you can take on as well. However, it’s worth noting that there is something else that is coming along with the new game additions.
When the games release on August 19, 2025, there will be a new game trial for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers. Tomorrow, you’ll gain access to Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. Players will have the ability to enjoy five hours of gameplay, where they can then decide if they would like to purchase the full game. Meanwhile, all of your progress and trophies are said to carry over.
