Halo is rumored to be crossing over with Fortnite in very interesting ways.

ShiinaBR shared this rumor on Twitter:
RUMOR: Female Spartan (Halo) might be coming soon
– Female character, name unknown
– Red/Blue Energy Sword Pickaxe
– Someone told me & @FNBRintel a while ago
– 4chan claims Halo in S4 Battle Pass
Can’t verify the 4chan part, if true, S4 is called “Invasion Evolved”
How Credible Is The Rumor?
This rumor is much more believable now than it was a few years ago. Halo is one of the Xbox’s signature franchises. Some would even argue that it was Microsoft’s number one video game franchise, at least before they bought Zenimax Media and Activision Blizzard King.
But Microsoft has slowly transitioned into becoming a big third party publisher. Microsoft has not published any of their Halo games onto PlayStation or Switch platforms yet. But, gamers already expect that Microsoft will publish Halo on them eventually.
So, if Halo is set to become a third party franchise, it makes sense that the game would come to the biggest multiplatform game as well in Fortnite.
Should We Be Excited?
Fortnite continues to be the market leader in live service games. Some would also argue it’s the biggest game in the world as a whole.
This could be a big deal for Epic Games and Fortnite. If they built their entire next season around Halo, it could almost be like Epic making their own version of Halo.
Epic Games were the original studio who made the Gears of War trilogy. It would be interesting to see their take on Halo, even if this Epic Games isn’t entirely the same team.
This is also interesting because Halo Studios is making new games on Unreal 5. So Halo Studios might secretly be working on Fortnite’s next season as their next Halo experience.
Who Could Be The Female Spartan?
Halo has a lot of major female characters in its lore. But players have not had a lot of opportunities to play as female Spartans in particular. There is one woman who would fit the bill as a crossover character, even if she’s not one Halo fans may even remember.
SPARTAN-458 was created by Bungie and Team Ninja together as a playable guest character for Dead or Alive 4. She enters the Dead or Alive universe because of a slipstream space anomaly that also includes her Nassau Station as a playable stage.
As you can see, SPARTAN-458 has the perfect story to be plopped into Fortnite as well. But we would not be surprised if Epic Games and Halo Studios makes an entirely new character instead.
