Frostpunk was a surprise hit. Coming from the folks over at 11 Bit Studios, the gameplay kept players locked in. This was all about survival and making tough choices. Leading humanity through a natural disaster is anything but easy in the game. Fortunately, if you were a fan of those hard choices and high-risk moves, a sequel had already come out. Frostpunk 2 is currently only available on the PC platform.
However, that will not be the case for much longer. Instead, we knew that the developers were working on a way to bring this game to the console platforms. It didn’t quite make it through the gate when Frostpunk 2 initially launched. Instead, fans were left waiting for when they could finally experience this game outside of the PC platform.
Frostpunk 2 Console Release Date
Frostpunk 2 is officially coming to the console platform on September 18, 2025. More specifically, you can expect this game to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. That’s about a year to date since the game officially launched on the PC platform last September 20, 2024.
So the wait won’t be much longer. We’re quickly approaching the end of July, and soon we’ll be delving into the August video game releases. Hopefully, we’ll see the console version of Frostpunk 2 come out on time without any sudden delays.
That said, if you haven’t been keeping tabs on this installment, it does take place a few decades after the events of Frostpunk. Players will once again have to oversee a city of survivors after the disastrous volcanic winter. However, the focus is more on keeping the city thriving and addressing social challenges that may arise.
Of course, that’s not to say there won’t be some hardships regarding natural hazards. You’ll still need to maintain a comfortable city that can deal with the harsh temperatures. If you’re up for the challenge, Frostpunk 2 is available right now on the PC platform. Again, those of you with a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S can expect it on September 18, 2025.
