There is quite a bit of hype built up over The Blood of Dawnwalker. The game comes from a new studio, Rebel Wolves. However, what might intrigue some fans about this game is that it is coming from some of the developers who left CD Projekt Red. For instance, you have Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the former head of production for Cyberpunk 2077, who are chipping away at this debut game.
If this title has been on your radar, then we have brand-new gameplay footage for you to check out. Rebel Wolves released the footage online to give you a small tease of what to expect. That said, it’s noted to be footage that is from a pre-beta build of the game, and there’s a chance some of the content you view will not be present in the final build of the game. Despite that, you’re able to see some of the combat and world-building that Rebel Wolves put into the title so far.
Overall, the gameplay footage showcased is from a quest that leads our protagonist in search of a powerful weapon located in a city. Fortunately, our protagonist hasn’t ruffled too many feathers quite yet for the vampire lord overseeing the town, which allows him to go about his business without the local authorities on his trail. Furthermore, we get a look at how conversations work and combat.
If you haven’t already put this game on your radar, we can give you a quick refresher. The Blood of Dawnwalker is set during the 14th century when vampires have taken over control. Now in charge, humanity is forced into praising these beasts and enduring a blood tax. Meanwhile, our protagonist is Coen, a man who is struggling with a vampiric curse.
Players have thirty days to save Coen’s family. How you approach this seems to be mainly up to you. There appear to be a few means of going about the game and quests. However, we have some time before it’s ready for the public. The Blood of Dawnwalker is currently scheduled to launch sometime in 2026. When it does release, you’ll find it available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. For now, you can view the new gameplay footage in the video embedded below.
