Elden Ring Nightreign PlayStation Download Sizes Revealed

May 22, 2025 by Ryan Parreno

Xbox and Steam don’t seem to have updated download sizes yet.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s download sizes on PlayStation have been revealed.

PlayStation Game Size shared this information on Twitter:

  • PlayStation 4 Download Size: 21.176 GB
  • PlayStation 5 Download Size: 21.156 GB
  • Artbook & Soundtrack: 738 MB
  • Version: 1.01/1.001.000
  • Pre-load: May 28
  • Release: May 30

FromSoftware has been running playtests for Elden Ring Nightreign since the start of the year, so the studio has had a good amount of time to run playtests. As a live service title, fans will give them a lot more leeway in things like the amount of content and even the quality of the play experience. The expectation is that they will make the game more worthwhile in time.

Interestingly, FromSoftware is offering this multiplayer game as a $ 40 purchase instead of going free-to-play. FromSoftware’s reputation may be enough to buoy the game enough, but we wouldn’t rule out a switch to free-to-play in the future.

We did go ahead and check the listed file sizes and other stores and we can only assume they haven’t been updated and won’t be accurate for their sizes at launch. Xbox Store says that the game has an approximate size of 328.76 MB, and Steam says that the game only needs 30 GB.

While multiplatform games do have varying filesizes in different platforms, give how close the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 download sizes are, we assume that the Xbox and Steam versions will be closer to that 21 GB filesize.

As we now know, FromSoftware is also set to release a second multiplayer action game in Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods, to be published by Nintendo. FromSoftware may not necessarily also be bringing Elden Ring Nightreign to the Switch 2 as well. In general, it would be favorable for Elden Ring Nightreign to get as many players as possible, but FromSoftware wouldn’t want to be in a position where they’re working on two games who are competing directly with each other on one platform.

If Elden Ring Nightreign is coming to the Switch 2 eventually, it will be a decision of the game’s publisher, Bandai Namco. And Bandai Namco has a good relationship with Nintendo as well, but they will primarily have to make decisions based on what will be best for the game.

It’s easy to see that most of Elden Ring Nightreign’s players will be on PlayStation, and still possibly be split closely between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Maybe that will be enough to keep Sony fans happy, as the console company’s own live service efforts aren’t in a good place right now.
