Xbox Rolling Out New Customization Options For Its UI

May 19, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Xbox users will soon get a means to tweak their console’s Home page further.

Xbox owners might want to look at some new settings coming their way. If you were looking to get a little more control of your console’s Home page, then we have good news. Today, we’re discovering that Microsoft is alerting followers that three new options will be coming to the console. These options will further adjust the Home page to feel more tuned towards your tastes.

Microsoft already allows players who own the Xbox Series X or Series S to change the background of their Home page. This can be fitted with themes around your favorite video game or celebration. But a new set of options is coming to further adjust the recently played section of the page.

Taking to the Xbox Wire, Microsoft confirmed that three options are coming. Each will adjust the recently played section, but they are slightly different from each other. We’ll list the three new settings coming our way and what they offer, as listed in the official blog post.

New Home Options Coming Soon

Hide System Apps – Want a cleaner view focused on your games and entertainment? You can now hide system apps from the recently played games and apps list on Home, reducing clutter and keeping your Home focused on what matters most to you.

Pin Favorites to Home – You can now pin up to three of your recently played games or apps directly to the recently played games and apps list. These pins will stay near the front of the list as you launch other things, giving you quick access to your go-to titles.

Reduce Tile Count (Coming Soon!) – Prefer a more minimal look? This setting allows you to reduce the number of visible tiles in the recently played games and apps list, helping you streamline your Home and surface only the essentials. We’re still refining this setting, and it will be coming soon.

These options should hopefully deliver a better means to tweak the Home page more to your liking. It’s a step in the right direction, I’m sure, for some fans. Perhaps some new options will follow that will further allow players to pin or hide specific sections of the Home page.

With all that said, this is rolling out first to Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha users. Their feedback will further help make new adjustments if required before the options are rolled out to everyone else.
