Microsoft CEO Looks To Train Muse AI On A Catalog of Games

February 24, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Muse AI is hitting the ground running.

Recently, Microsoft made some notable news in the AI realm. They unveiled to the world Muse AI, a tool to help with game development. Now, it looks like there is already a catalog of games that Microsoft seeks to start training Muse AI with. Here’s what we learned so far.

Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella was recently featured on the Dwarkesh Patel podcast. During the conversation, the topic of Muse AI came up. It was a brief mention, but one that confirmed the CEO is excited about this AI tool and that there’s a catalog of games that will be used to help train this tool for future projects.

With the number of IPs and acquisitions that Microsoft made, it might allow the tool to use quite a bit of varied content in its training. Meanwhile, the CEO of Microsoft noted that this was a massive moment and compared it to ChatGPT making its first sentence or watching Dall-E draw. So, this could be a very notable tool for game developers going forward.

It’s an AI that’s still in its infancy, so it might take a little bit before we actually see how well Muse AI could aid game development. Of course, some are hesitant about using AI. We know it’s a touchy subject, but Muse AI could have a few benefits that might help studios get projects off the ground.

With Muse AI, in theory, it might be a means to allow some of the tedious parts of game development to be streamlined with AI. That would allow more focus on prototyping, coming up with ideas, and testing these mechanics out. Of course, we have also heard that Muse AI could actually aid in game preservation. Ideally, we might see some older games finally run on modern devices with AI. However, we’ll have to wait and see what the future of AI tools holds for game developers and players.
