Some new images of screenshots purporting to be Doom 4 have leaked out from… well, somewhere, with word that the game has been cancelled.
Bethesda has apparently fired back at the allegation, telling GameInformer's Jim Reilly that the game has not been cancelled, who tweeted the following message:

You can take a look at the screenshots for yourself below. If they do for a fact belong to Doom 4, some of these locations look an awful lot like Darksiders. I played the game recently—and that looks suspiciously like the first area.
Another screenshot shows a run-down, post-apocalyptic environment with cars that look like they belong in Fallout 3, with dilapidated McDonalds signs.
The locations are an ambiguous mix of hellish urban landscapes and differing art styles. My gut says it's a hoax, so it probably is. You can look at all the screenshots here.
