Nintendo has announced that it is lowering the price of its handheld 2DS system in North America. The Japanese console company said that from May 20 onward, the price of the Nintendo 2DS will be reduced from $99.99 to $79.99, making it much more affordable for parents.
Some of the systems contain pre-installed games like Mario Kart 7, allowing prospective buyers to save on even more. The company is also releasing Disney Magical World 2 and Style Savvy: Fashion Forward later this year.
This is the second time the system has had its price cut. Last August, Nintendo dropped the price of the 2DS from $129.99 to $99.99.
The system was released in October 2013 and designed for smaller hands than the regular-sized 3DS and much larger 3DS XL, which are intended for teens and adults.
