Elden Ring was such a worldwide hit. Fans couldn’t get enough of this game. The exploration and battles left so many players crafting strategies, tips, and tricks to make it through this challenging game. We have also since received an expansion in the form of Shadow of the Erdtree. That opened up more content for players to enjoy in this game. But if you’re hopeful that the president of FromSoftware, Hidetaka Miyazaki, will be coming to a grand stage soon to unveil an Elden Ring 2, we’re here to burst that bubble, unfortunately.
There is no shortage of players hopeful that FromSoftware will release a sequel to Elden Ring. However, Hidetaka Miyazaki was recently featured at the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan Asia. Thanks to a report from Automaton, we’re learning that after winning an award for Shadow of the Erdtree, it was unveiled that the team at FromSoftware is not actively considering an Elden Ring 2.
That’s unfortunate, but that doesn’t mean Elden Ring was a one-and-done IP. Instead, it was noted that Hidetaka wasn’t going to rule out the possibility of some kind of new development of the IP in the future. Now, what that will be is a mystery, but it doesn’t seem like there’s anything in the works right now.
Of course, there is still going to be plenty of attention put on FromSoftware to see what new games are coming from this studio next. For instance, fans have been asking for their previously released Bloodborne game to see another release for modern platforms, as it was only released on the PlayStation 4 in 2015. So, for now, we’ll just have to be patient and wait to see what the talented minds at FromSoftware will come out with next.
