It fascinates me to see builds of games before being released or, in some cases, games that never came to fruition. This can give viewers a small look at what a studio was initially planning. Today, we’re getting a look at a scrapped project from the folks over at TT Games. It turns out the studio was interested in bringing out a Lego James Bond game.
TT Games is known for a wide variety of Lego game adaptations. They are typically family-friendly and lighthearted to what the source materials offer. They also seem to do quite well in the marketplace, but there was one franchise the studio was interested in bringing out after Lego Dimensions. That was a game focused on James Bond. But unfortunately, that never would come to fruition.
Thanks to Eurogamer, who spotted a video trailer post from Reddit. We’re learning just a small bit about this project. Now, this information might not be fully accurate, but it seems that this is what is known so far about the Lego James Bond game. Development of the project wasn’t kicking off. Instead, TT Games put together a small pitch for a James Bond title when they realized Lego Dimensions wouldn’t see a third year of content.
The result was a collection of iconic moments from the James Bond films rather than focusing strictly on one storyline. This trailer was then pitched to get The Lego Group behind the project. However, it seems The Lego Group wasn’t interested because of the content that would be featured.
Because there would be more violence and sexual innuendos, the decision was not to move forward with this project. As a result, it was scrapped and now the pitch has become public. If there is enough interest in this leaked pitch, it could persuade others to look at a Lego James Bond game adaptation.
Of course, we already have another James Bond game in the works. If you don’t recall, IO Interactive is working on a James Bond game. However, we haven’t seen this title showcased yet, so details are still a mystery.
