CD Projekt Red Ramping Up Production With Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel

November 13, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

A hiring spree is underway at the Boston offices.

CD Projekt Red has become a behemoth in the video game industry. Players quickly gravitated towards the studio with the release of The Witcher games. Now, the studio has a few projects in the works, including a sequel to its latest release, Cyberpunk 2077. Speaking of that game, it looks like the development of Cyberpunk 2077 might be ramping up with several new open positions within the Boston studio location.

If you don’t recall, CD Projekt Red opened a new studio location in North America. This studio’s goal was to deliver Cyberpunk 2077’s successor. We don’t know much about the game right now. However, it was recently posted on CD Projekt Red’s official X account that they have several open positions that need to be filled for this game’s production.

CD Projekt Red Open Positions

  • Senior Environment Artist
  • Lead Environment Artist
  • Senior Cinematic Designer
  • Senior VFX Artist
  • Senior Environment Concept Artist
  • Senior Combat Designer
  • Lead Environment Concept Artist
  • IT Director

It’s noted that all of these positions are directly for the North American team handling Project Orion. That’s a good indicator that production is progressing and that there are now more hands on deck working on the project. Of course, it’s still going to be quite a while before it’s ready to be shared with the public. After all, CD Projekt Red is likely trying to avoid another launch fiasco that Cyberpunk 2077 initially endured.

While we are still ways out before getting our hands on Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, we have another RPG to help tie us over. We’ll likely get our hands on The Witcher 4 before, which should give fans more than enough content to enjoy. However, much like Project Orion, we’re still waiting to learn more about what we can expect for the next game iteration of The Witcher series.
