If you were able to catch the recent Naughty Dog livestream then you learned a few interesting facts when it comes to the future of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. One of the more surprising elements that was announced as a scrapped idea is still giving creators some interest in going back to further fully develop. The featured element we’re referring to is a split-screen multiplayer game mode.
As mentioned, the announcement of this split-screen game mode was revealed during Naughty Dog’s livestream. Admittedly, the development studio decided to scrap the idea simply to make the deadline of May 10, 2016. However, the developers are still passionate about the couch co-op style of multiplayer.
Even though the couch co-op game mode hasn’t been officially announced as an upcoming feature, the developers are still hoping to bring out the game mode post-launch and release it as an update. How long that will be or just how it will play out is still unknown.
This wasn’t the only feature that the Naughty Dog team would like to see brought out. A classic mode which is inspired by Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, is also being considered, much like a unique spectator mode though neither feature was fleshed out for viewers. For now, we’ll have to wait and see just what features will come out for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End that’s not already highlighted within the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Roadmap.
As mentioned, Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is set to release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 this May 10, 2016.
