There are never any shortages of rumors, leaks, and speculation in the video game industry. We have to tread carefully when going through these reports, as they are more often than not completely false. However, there are some sources online that have a more proven track record. Today, we’re learning that one of these sources online has unveiled a new controller coming our way from the folks at Xbox.
Thanks to a report from VGC, we’re discovering that Dealabs has unveiled a new controller from Xbox. Dealabs has been reliable in the past when it comes to leaking information for the gaming industry. Their report notes that Microsoft will be releasing a new edition of the Xbox Wireless Controller. Unfortunately, there are no screenshots available to highlight what this controller will look like.
What we know is that this controller is called the Ghost Cipher Special Edition, and it will be released next month. It’s stated that this will be another transparent design, highlighting the various components inside the controller. If you’re a fan of the previously released Sky Cipher Special Edition controller that was already released, you’ll have a better idea of what this controller might look like. You can find the Sky Cipher controller highlighted above. This new controller would feature a different hue of color than what we got with the Sky Cipher Special Edition, so that’s what we’re left waiting on at the moment.
Fortunately, the wait won’t be long as it’s noted that Xbox will unveil the controller tomorrow, September 24, 2024. That would also likely confirm the release date, which was noted to be October 8, 2024. It’s also said that consumers interested in picking this controller up will find it available for $69.99.
But again, take this information as nothing more than a rumor right now, as we don’t have anything official to confirm this controller is actually in the works. Instead, we’ll have to wait until tomorrow for Microsoft to reveal this controller edition.
