EA has announced that the next Battlefield will be revealed live on Twitch on Friday, May 6th.
An event page confirming the reveal has launched on the official Battlefield website.
“Join us on May 6 at 4pm ET / 9pm BST for a first look at the future of Battlefield,” the site reads.
In a statement to VideoGamer.com, EA added the stream will offer an “insight into the minds of the developers as you hear from the Creative Director Lars Gustavsson and Lead Producer Aleksander Grondal on the past, present and the future of Battlefield. You will be able to join in the conversation as we open the floor to questions from viewers.”
Those who sign up for Battlefield Insider will also receive “in-game rewards” and “exclusive content”, EA added.
The announcement was originally revealed by a German site, Play3.de. The news was backed up by XboxDynasty.de and German YouTuber Mashed8DE. Before the official announcement, IGN also confirmed a “world premiere” event for next week.
Battlefield developer DICE shifted its focus to the next entry in the shooter franchise last December. In November 2014 EA said the game would have a military setting following the cops-and-robbers story of Battlefield Hardlines. There has been speculation that the game will be set during one of the World Wars.
A Swiss retailer has listed the game for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 26th. For more on Battlefield 5, check out our dedicated game tag.
