The team behind Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to expand. Larian Studios has announced the opening of its seventh studio, Larian Studios Warsaw, which will help to develop two upcoming titles that have not yet been announced.
Larian’s main studio is located in Belgium, with additional locations in Canada, Ireland, Spain, Malaysia, and the UK.
“With two very ambitious RPGs now starting development, what better way to see our visions realized than by growing the team and opening a seventh studio in the heart of Poland’s lively gaming scene,” a post on the official Larian X account reads.
Last month, the popular studio announced that it was hard at work on two new projects based on original IPs.
“As an independent studio since 1996, we value the freedom to follow our creativity wherever it leads. In this case, after six years in the Forgotten Realms and much discussion and rumination, we’ve decided to seize this opportunity to develop our own IPs,” Larian boss Swen Vinke said.
“We’re currently working on two new projects and we couldn’t be more excited about what the future has in store. It’s still early days – we’ll tell you more about those later down the line. But know that even as our focus turns to these new games, the sensibilities that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 are alive and well here at the Larian castle.”
Vinke also stressed that the studio’s decision to move on from the D&D universe wasn’t influenced by Hasbro or Wizards of the Coast.
