The official Call of Duty Twitter account appears to have confirmed that a remaster of the original Modern Warfare title is in development – with poop and pants emojis.
Neither publisher Activision or Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward has actually confirmed that the current-generation remaster of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is in development but the game apparently leaked yesterday.
After the leak, the official account responded to an 18-month-old tweet from a Call of Duty fan. Here’s what was said:

This isn’t final confirmation but it is the best indication to date that Modern Warfare 4 is being developed for new hardware.
The next Call of Duty is believed to be titled Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare according to PlayStation Store promotional material and will include a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Rumours relating to a remaster have been circulating for months and has been widely requested by fans of the franchise.
This year’s Call of Duty is being developed by series creator Infinity Ward and Activision has said it will be “innovative.”
Maybe the game is indeed in development for current-gen or perhaps Deadpool hacked their account, either way, Call of Duty games are usually announced in May, which is just around the corner. We can expect a full blowout at E3 in June.
Rumours have suggested that the game takes place in a far-future sci-fi setting with space battles and a space station serving as a central hub area.
Activision has not yet confirmed details of Infinite Warfare, a Modern Warfare remaster, or when the new game will be set.
