You didn’t really ask for it. But it doesn’t mean this new Rocket League DLC isn’t fantastic. Kyle Lemmon posted this update on the Rocket League website yesterday.
Starting with the FREE “Hoops” update on April 26, Witcher fans can customize their Battle-Cars with the Witcher Medallion Antenna thanks to our friends at CD Projekt Red! We thought it was an apt choice in anticipation of their upcoming Blood and Wine expansion.
Thankfully this crossover is authorized.
Several members of the Psyonix team were big fans of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt last year, so we talked with the awesome developers at CD Projekt Red to see if Geralt of Rivia’s iconic Witcher Medallion could make its way into Rocket League!
But what is this “Hoops” update that was mentioned in the post?
It prides itself on being the Basketball twist to the soccer/driving gameplay of Rocket League. It’ll be a completely free update for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 versions of the game. The mode will come with a new arena called “Dunk House”, where the net is also a ramp for the ball.
This isn’t the first crossover news announced for Rocket League. Earlier this week we found out Goat Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator crossovers were also in the works.
Why? Well, why not? I hope they come out with crossover maps for The Witcher 3 and Rocket League. That would take it to a whole new level.
