Assassin’s Creed Codename Red Launches Fiscal Year 2025

February 8, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

We have a launch window.

Assassin’s Creed fans are waiting for that next major release to land in the marketplace. We had a roadmap just a couple of years ago that helped pave out some of the games coming out to the public. One of which was Assassin’s Creed, Codename Red. Today, we can put a new launch window on this game project, which is now set for the 2025 fiscal year. That means we should see this game land in the marketplace by March 2025.

Ubisoft recently had its third-quarter sales report, where we are getting some new insight into when we can expect Assassin’s Creed Codename Red. This comes from a report by VGC, which covered the comments made by the co-founder of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot. The CEO noted that players can expect Assassin’s Creed Codename Red within the 2025 fiscal year, which kicks off this April and will go until March 2025. So we have a nice gap right now of when Assassin’s Creed Codename Red could launch, but it doesn’t guarantee that the game will be available in the marketplace this calendar year.

However, the CEO did mention that Star Wars Outlaws will be available within 2024. That is another major game for Ubisoft and easily one of the eagerly anticipated games for the Star Wars franchise. With that said, we’re still waiting for more information to be unveiled for the next Assassin’s Creed game. We know that Ubisoft Quebec is handling the project and that players would be tossed into feudal Japan. Furthermore, we expect plenty of stealth missions as you take the shinobi role.

Again, details for the game are scarce right now, but we should hopefully get some new marketing material to highlight what to expect from this new upcoming installment. Meanwhile, those of you who have yet to play the previous release can now do so. The last release to hit the marketplace for the franchise came in October of 2023, which was Assassin’s Creed Mirage. That game was set before the events of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, as we’re getting more of the backstory and storyline from Basim Ibn Ishaq.

This was also a scaled-down installment and didn’t focus on the grand open-world aspect that the franchise was starting to become known for with titles like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and the previously mentioned Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. With that said, if you haven’t picked that installment up, you can do so on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the PC platforms.
