WWE Lawsuit Scandal Leads To Brock Lesnar’s Removal In A Video Game

February 2, 2024 by Ryan Parreno

This may only be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to changes for WWE’s video games.

Brock Lesnar has been removed in a WWE video game, in the fallout of a brewing WWE scandal and lawsuit.

We are about to describe some terrible news relating to the wrestling industry. We will be sticking to general descriptions of this situation, and will be deliberately omitting specific details. This is out of respect for the former WWE employee, and because of the vulgar nature of the acts involved. This information is easy to find outside this website if you wish to seek it out.

Last week, WWE, alongside its former owner Vince McMahon, and executive John Laurinitis, were struck with lawsuits related to a breached NDA deal with a former WWE employee. The WWE employee accused Vince and John of abuse and trafficking.

There are several charges filed against the three parties in civil court. Brock Lesnar is not one of those charged, but he has been drawn into this issue because he has been identified as one of the people involved.

As described in the lawsuit, the former employee was offered to be trafficked to a performer in the WWE, who was described as a former UFC and WWE champion. The Wall Street Journal claimed afterwards that this person was Brock Lesnar.

As reported by Video Games Chronicle, Brock Lesnar has been removed from the video game WWE SuperCard, a mobile game with the same stat-comparing gameplay mechanics as Top Trumps. WWE SuperCard is published by 2K Games, who has a more high-profile title with the WWE license, namely the WWE 2K console and PC wrestling simulation and arcade games.

Brock Lesnar, Vince McMahon and John Laurinitis are all playable characters in last year’s incarnation of WWE 2K, WWE 2K23. As WWE has moved to distance themselves from both Vince and John, it is already a given that both men will not be making it over to WWE 2K24.

Brock Lesnar represents a more pressing situation for the company. Prior to this, he was an active member of the promotion’s roster, and was planned to be part of the cover art of WWE 2K24 40 Years of Wrestlemania Edition, alongside their biggest stars, like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Andre The Giant, and Becky Lynch.

As of this writing, 2K Games has yet to comment on the issue. It is possible that removing Brock Lesnar from the game would mean a significant delay in WWE 2K24’srelease, for developer Visual Concepts to make the necessary changes across multiple platforms.

WWE 2K24 is scheduled for release on March 8, 2024, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows via Steam.
