Stellaris’ Pre-Order Deals on Nova and Galaxy Edition Also Available

April 15, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

Save up to 20% off on Nova or Galaxy Edition on Paradox’s latest

Earlier today Paradox Interactive opened up pre-orders for it’s latest and greatest space strategy title Stellaris. The game is out on May 9th this year, so only 3 and a half weeks to go before launch, yet there are also pre-order discounts to be acquired.

The cheapest way to snag a discount on the digital copy is at GMG, who is hawking Stellaris Steam keys but with a coupon code worth 20% off. The discount works on the Standard Edition as well as the more expensive Nova and Galaxy Editions of the game.

Use Code: DEALZON20

  • Stellaris: Galaxy Edition (Steam) — $56 (list $70)
  • Stellaris: Nova Edition (Steam) — $40 (list $50)
  • Stellaris (Steam) — $36 (list $45)

We should note that while the Nova and Galaxy Editions of Stellaris are fine, GMG is claiming a $44.99 MSRP for the Standard Edition of the title. This is not exactly accurate, as Steam Store is only charging $39.99. Never the less the coupon still gets the Standard Edition down to $36 (cheaper than Steam Store) but that limits your discount to only about 10% off. If you want to unlock the true potential of the 20% off coupon code you’ll need to pre-order either the Nova or the Galaxy Editions.

Which Edition Should You Get?

If you’re an obsessed Paradox strategy gamer that inevitably buys all the DLC anyway, go ahead and buy the more expensive editions. Basically there are not a ton of essential add on’s to the upper editions though, and mostly they are just informative or cosmetic differences.

The Nova Edition gets you:

  • Base game
  • MP3 Soundtrack (140 minutes)
  • Exclusive Alien Race DLC

The Galaxy Edition gets you:

  • Everything in the Nova Edition
  • 130-page Collectors Book
  • eBook Novel
  • Exclusive Avatar to use on the Paradox Interactive Forum
  • signed Wallpaper from the development team

Pre-order Bonuses

Now if you’re considering a pre-ordering, you’ll be happy to note Paradox is tossing in a decent DLC bonus. The “Creatures of the Void” DLC includes 5 additional alien races to your game. In addition to the DLC you’ll also get a Forum Avatar, Stallaris themed ringtones and message alerts, and they’ll send your name into space. Wait… what?

No kidding, they are going to send your name into space. For those who pre-order Stellaris AND have linked their Paradox Interactive account with their Steam accounts will get their names included on a weather balloon send into the upper stratosphere. This even (which reminds me of a Red Bull video) will be filmed and a video posted. You must have linked your accounts by June 1st though or be left out.

Disclosure: Gameranx may receive a small cut from every transaction above.
