Grand Theft Auto V Database Leak Mentions Bully 2 & More

November 20, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

More concepts have been revealed.

The latest trend of leaks and speculation online regarding Rockstar Games is their next Grand Theft Auto installment. This video game franchise has had a massive following over the years, but a new installment has been absent for years. Since 2013, fans have been playing with Grand Theft Auto V while waiting for the studio to drop Grand Theft Auto VI. We know the game is in the works; even a trailer is planned for early December. However, a new leak for Grand Theft Auto V has fans talking about some of the past projects Rockstar Games was apparently working on, such as a Bully sequel.

Today, we’re getting word that the program database for Grand Theft Auto V has leaked online. This comes from a recent thread on Reddit highlighting some of the concepts unveiled. For those unaware, this database is for debugging, but it also gives fans a new look at files with concepts that were cut from GTA 5 and even other video game projects under Rockstar Games. According to X user billysliamgta, one of the projects mentioned was Bully 2, a game we’ve heard about for several years. It looked like this was a game Rockstar Games intended to see release, but it never came to fruition. Instead, there’s more speculation from fans and players seeking out clues within Grand Theft Auto Online that might indicate an announcement is coming.

But that might no longer be the case, as the current focus is Grand Theft Auto VI. The video game has been confirmed to receive its first showcase next month. Likewise, some concepts were apparently attached to Grand Theft Auto V’s production but were scrapped or reworked. That includes a game mode called Cops N’ Crooks. This game mode had players taking the role of either a criminal or a member of law enforcement. Now, with this leaked database, we know that there were eight roles that players could take control of. Those roles included being a cop, crook, officer, tactical, tech, soldier, enforcer, and hacker.

Unfortunately, those roles didn’t have anything else to confirm what their unique attributes included. Of course, with this being scrapped for Grand Theft Auto V and its online component, Grand Theft Auto Online, perhaps we’ll see it make a return in some fashion for Grand Theft Auto VI. This leak has fans digging through the various codes and references, but it won’t be long before attention returns to GTA 6. Then, we can once again start speculating about whether Rockstar Games will finally bring Bully 2 back into production.
