Development team Torn Page Games has officially launched the Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming video game, Gunkatana. The new campaign is available starting today and will last until early next month. If you were ever interested in picking up the full video game release of Gunkatana, now’s your opportunity to help make this a successful Kickstarter by pledging for one of the offered tiers.
Gunkatana is described as a fast and bloody action title with heavy influences to retro classics like Smash TV along with the most recent release Hotline Miami. The game is based on a future where massive corporations benefit from live deathmatches and you just happened to be in the tournament.
With four playable characters, a storyline based around a revolution against megacorporations, local multiplayer support, along with a soundtrack by artist Electric Café, there’s already quite the hype building up for this video game release.
As mentioned, the game is currently featured in a Kickstarter campaign with a pledged goal of $56,503 and at the time of writing this, the campaign is just shy of earning $2,500. The campaign has ways to go, but if you’re interested in possibly throwing some money into the development of this game then check out the featured pledge rewards.
Just like with any Kickstarter campaign, developers Torn Page Games offers gamers an incentive in pledging money towards the game development. Various rewards include $21 for a DRM-free digital copy of the game with a digital map all the way up north of $5,000 where you’ll receive all the previous rewards along with helping the development team design a character skin, create an NPC, design a level, and even create a boss.
Already the game is set to release on the PC platform for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. However, the developers have marked the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Wii U as a potential platform release.
