Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project 2.0 Overhauls Graphics

October 11, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

A mod worth checking out.

Update:

Here are what some viewers had to say about the new mod video.

The best thing about these mods is that they are faithful to the original textures. They don’t change the experience, they improve it.

I have been using your mod since the witcher 3. The mods you have made are tremendous. I salute you. Thank you for your dedication.

Once again, the man, the myth, the legend is blessing us with pure quality and excellence. <3 Now I can finally begin my playthrough in 4K HDR with path tracing – looking forward to this!

Original Story…

Cyberpunk 2077 is already a rather nice-looking game. With the game set in the distant dystopian future, Night City is something that might have you just taking in the sights. We also just had a significant update and the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion. However, going beyond that, you will find that there are a slew of mods to make Night City even more attractive to explore. That said, if you want to just take in Night City without having anything drastically changed from what the developers brought into the game, then there is the HD Reworked Project 2.0 you might find of interest.

This mod comes from the creator behind The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project. Essentially, the mod looks to improve the graphics by reworking the game assets. You should see an overall more detailed world as you explore. But more importantly, this mod aims also to keep the original art style. So, if you enjoyed the world CD Projekt Red crafted, then you will find that this mod shouldn’t change anything outside of giving you more details and enhanced visuals. Best of all, this mod also looks to provide good performance, so don’t think that your PC will take a hit if you download this mod.

There are two download files available as well. It boils down to what your GPU can provide in terms of VRAM. If you have a GPU that can spare the VRAM, then you can download the Ultra Quality, which is aimed at 2K/4K displays. Meanwhile, there is the Balanced file, so it still maintains high texture quality but is more for graphics cards with less memory. Of course, if you find that the mods don’t work out, you can always uninstall the mod and go back to the base version.

Overall, you’ll find that the mod will enhance textures in a variety of areas, such as roads, walls, dirt, grime, objects, graffiti, and more. This mod has also been around for a while, but today, we have a new version release, which further improves the quality across the various textures. There’s even a comparison video, which you can view below, where you’ll see how the base game looks along with the mod in action. Otherwise, more information on the mod and where you can obtain it can be found on Nexus Mods.
