Head of North American PlayStation Network Has Left Sony

January 30, 2012 by Lyle Smith

Susan Panico departs.

Sony has just confirmed that Susan Panico, long-time head of the North American PlayStation Network, is no longer with the corporation.

“We can confirm Susan has left SCEA. We thank her for her considerable contribution to our business and wish her every success in the future," said SCEA's Patrick Seybold.

Panico saw the PSN grow into a huge online entertainment network over the last few years with more than 77 million registered users; however, the network suffered serious set-backs in spring of last year with a six-week outage after the notorious hacker attack.

She also regularly participated in the North American PS3 community by often contributing to on the US PlayStation Blog where users often go for community news.

There has been no word on her replacement.
