Bethesda’s Pete Hines Tells Fans To Relax Over Starfield Marketing Concerns

August 14, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Take a breath.

Starfield is easily one of the biggest video games launching this year. From the talented folks from Bethesda and also their next new RPG in years, there’s quite a bit of attention on the game. However, it’s also set to be an Xbox exclusive, so those on PlayStation 5 will be left without the game. Still, that hasn’t stopped fans from quickly taking up with the game and all the marketing materials to have been released for it so far. But that has also made some fans a bit uneasy as we’re still left without some information, like how close the game is to hitting the fabled gold status milestone.

All this came out from one fan who tweeted out to Pete Hines. If you’re unfamiliar with who Pete Hines is, this would be Bethesda’s head of publishing. Recently one fan reached out to Pete Hines saying that while marketing materials like themed Starfield chairs and gear is cool, when could we expect information to come out about the game going gold or when preloading will be available? According to Pete Hines, you can take a deep breath as they have a talented crew that knows what they are doing.

Take a deep breath. I have an amazing team. We know what we’re doing.

It’s pointed out by the fan that CD Projekt Red heavily marketed Cyberpunk 2077 in a similar manner. However, as you all know, Cyberpunk 2077 was released in a rather poor state. That resulted in quite a bit of criticism by fans and critics alike. So there might be some fear that Starfield will follow a similar fate. But according to Pete, we have nothing to worry about as this RPG should be quite a thrilling experience when it does launch into the marketplace. Fortunately, there’s been no delay announcements, so we can still expect the game to find its way out into the marketplace this coming month.

For those of you who might have missed out, Starfield is an upcoming RPG that puts players into the future. Humanity has colonized other planets, and you’ll step into the role of a Constellation member. This is an organization of space explorers. You’ll venture into the great unknown, visit planets, interact with those in need, and chart out your own adventure. If you’re familiar with Bethesda’s previous works like the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls franchises, then you’ll have an idea of the type of game Starfield will be. You’ll get plenty of customization options, quests to take on, and plenty of exploration. Currently Starfield is set to release on September 6, 2023. When the game does launch you’ll find it available on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass.
