Take-Two Interactive Might Have Hinted At Grand Theft Auto 6 Release

August 9, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

The company is expecting some record-breaking performance.

There are quite a few of us waiting on Rockstar Games to finally unveil the next major installment to the Grand Theft Auto franchise. This IP has blown up with each release, and since Grand Theft Auto V, we’ve been forced to wait. It’s not too surprising that there is a relatively larger gap between releases. Grand Theft Auto V was already a massive hit, and it blew up even more when Rockstar Games brought out Grand Theft Auto Online. Developers, along with its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, were getting a real money-maker game that continued to sell years after its release.

But that hasn’t stopped fans from chiming in online regarding what might be next. Rockstar Games, along with Take-Two Interactive, have been rather quiet on this front. But recently, an earnings call from Take-Two Interactive might have hinted at a launch window. Now it’s already expected by fans that we’re bound to be getting close to the game’s anticipated release. However, during the earnings call, it was noted that the 2025 fiscal year is expected to have new record levels of operating performance.

That has fans anticipating that within the 2025 fiscal year, we’ll see the release of Grand Theft Auto 6. With Grand Theft Auto V being such a massive hit for the company, it makes sense that their expectations of the next game would perform even better. But again, that’s speculation, as Grand Theft Auto 6 is not directly mentioned as being released within the 2025 fiscal year. Right now, we’re still just as much of being in the dark as we’ve been in the past several years.

The only big reveal we had with Grand Theft Auto 6 came in the form of several video clip leaks. This opened up a small look into the game. However, it was a development build of the title and not polished. So while we got a very rough look into the game, the official grand reveal has yet to happen. We’ll just have to wait for the trailer announcement showcase to get announced or shadow-dropped online, finally. That would at least answer plenty of questions fans have been asking regarding what this new video game release could entail. Meanwhile, those of you who want to dive into Take-Two Interactive’s full earnings call transcript can check it out right here.
