The makers of Uncharted 4 are so confident in their storytelling that they’ve given an interview claiming that they’ve produced an ending for the game that will get people talking. Previous Uncharted games had completely straightforward endings that left little to the imagination, but the end of Nathan Drake’s adventure will be vastly different from anything fans of the series are used to.
Speaking to IGN, the game’s co-director Neil Druckmann said that he expects gamers to discuss the ending once they’ve experienced the game.
“I think people will discuss the ending,” he said. “If focus tests are anything to go by, there will be some arguments about the ending. I’m excited.”
“Indifference would be the worst thing. I would rather have people hate it than be indifferent to it. We’ll see how they react.”
IGN’s interviewer came out and asked Druckmann whether players can expect to see Drake to die, not really expecting a response.“Do you really want me to tell you? You don’t really want me to tell you,” Druckmann replied.
You can watch some new footage of the game, which was released earlier today.
Uncharted 4 is set for a May 10 release on the PlayStation 4.
