With the start of the Season 4 Reloaded Update in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0, the two titles got a few unique additions but both only acquired one new weapon. The only new weapon in Season 4 Reloaded is the MX GuardianSimilar to the AA12 from the original Modern Warfare 2 weapon, this full-auto shotgun packs a massive punch along with very very recoil. A powerful close-range tool, any player will want to know how to add this weapon to their arsenal. This guide will explain to players how to unlock the MX Guardian shotgun in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.
How to Unlock the MX Guardian Shotgun In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0
Previous post-launch weapons in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 have had a few different ways of being unlocked across multiple seasons. Weapons could usually be unlocked by finding them in DMZ and extracting with them while others that were introduced at the start of a season would simply be unlocked via the Battle Pass. Prior to this season, weapons introduced during a season’s Reloaded Update wouldn’t be added to the Battle Pass and instead would simply have a challenge. The MX Guardian shotgun takes all 3 versions of this and puts them together to make one of the more unique ways to unlock a weapon.
Before getting into the unique combo of Battle Pass and Challenges, let’s cover DMZ For those who primarily play the extraction mode, the whole challenge and Battle Pass nonsense can be skipped if they are able to find the MX Guardian in-game and extract with it. This can be done by looting a dead enemy that happens to have it or by having a teammate who already has the gun drop it for you and then extract with your new gift. However you get the gun, extracting it will add it to your arsenal.
Unlike other weapons introduced in the mid-season reloaded, the MX Guardian will be part of the Battle Pass. Since the start of the season, there has been a “CLASSIFIED” sector on the Battle Pass that unlocks with the Season 4 Reloaded Update. This sector won’t be unlocked via Battle Pass Tokens, however, as each item will require players to complete a challenge with the MX Guardian being the HVT reward in the sector. Once players unlock any of the adjacent Sectors, which include D2, D3, D4, D5, D6, or D7, they can begin to work on these challenges. Below is the full list of the Classified Battle Pass sector challenges and their rewards:
- Dependable Emblem: Get 10 ADS Operator Kills with Shotguns.
- Gunfire Calling Card: Get 10 Hipfire Operator Kills with Shotguns.
- Fanning Hutch Loading Screen: Get 10 Headshot Operator Kills with Shotguns.
- 1 Hour Double Weapon XP Token: Get 10 One Shot Operator Kills with Shotguns.
- MX Guardian: Earn All Sector Rewards.
