Dreadbit Unveils Their Acrobatic Combat Title Seraph

March 31, 2016 by Dennis Patrick

Forget having to aim, it’s all about moving.

Previously known for their puzzler Ironcast, Daniel Leaver, lead designer of development studio Dreadbit, has announced on the PlayStation Blog their latest video game, Seraph. This is an acrobatic combat action title where players take control of a female protagonist named Seraph who must battle against a variety of hell escaping demons. The twist to the game is that players can freely maneuver around the world while Seraph will automatically aim her gun to destroy the invading enemies.

Daniel Leaver made mention of the development studios love of action films such as the Matrix and Equilibrium, but making a game feel as if the player has total control and pristine aiming can be difficult. Until one day Daniel came up with a way in which the player can freely roam through levels without having to worry about properly aiming at an enemy, thus, Seraph was born.

The game lets players fully focus on fast-paced acrobatic evasion and the various special powers while the main gunplay is automatically controlled by the protagonist. However, this won’t be an easy game to master as Dreadbit was able to come up with unique and difficult level designs.

Interestingly enough, the game comes with a dynamically scaling difficulty rating to prevent players from outmatching the game. However, it’s noted within the blog post that as the game difficulty increases, players will begin to notice an increase in loot and quality. As of right now, it’s unknown when players will be able to vault, dodge, and flip their way through battling demons, but you can take a look at the announcement trailer posted up above.
