Ubisoft Forward delivered some new information for the upcoming Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The video game was highlighted to feature a Na’vi child that was kidnapped and raised by the Resources Development Administration or otherwise known as the RDA. This military threat has been seeking the resources found within Pandora, and to help even the odds against the Na’vi, young children were abducted and raised and are aimed to become a new threat to use against the armed forces found within Pandora.
However, we learn within the trailer that our protagonist was forced to enter a cryostasis sleep. Awaking fifteen years later, we’re found back on our homeworld of Pandora. Knowing just how dangerous the RDA is, you must find the tribes of Pandora and help aid them in the fight. However, it’s here that you’ll finally get to learn what it means to be a Na’vi. Best of all, not only will this be new for our protagonist, it will be a new experience for Avatar fans.
We know that this game is set in a new region that wasn’t previously showcased in past Avatar films. You’ll learn the abilities and means of exploring the land both on land or in the skies. So get ready to mount a banshee or an ikran as you explore or cover ground quickly. Best of all, we know that this game is in development, with the intended release set to take place later this year, just as long as there are no unexpected delays that pop up.
Currently, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is set to release on December 7, 2023. That’s the end of this year for those wishing to pick up a copy on PlayStation 5, PC, or Xbox Series X/S platforms. But you could go ahead and pre-order a copy of the game right now. According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, pre-ordering a copy of the game will get you one cosmetic character set and premium weapon skin.
In the meantime, while we wait for the game to launch into the marketplace later this year, you can check out the gameplay overview trailer that was showcased during today’s Ubisoft Forward event.
