Avowed Latest Trailer Offers A New Look Into Obsidian Entertainment’s Next RPG

June 12, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Check out the latest trailer right here.

Update:

Since the trailer dropped yesterday it was viewed over 345K times. Here are what some viewers had to say.

Was hoping to see more about the RPG side of things since that’s obsidian’s bread and butter.

Original Story…

Obsidian Entertainment is known for delivering thrilling RPG experiences, and since being acquired by Microsoft in 2018, we have seen the studio turn out a few projects. Included in the mix are the likes of Grounded and Pentiment. However, their next major release for the RPG genre is a game called Avowed. This game had very little information regarding what exactly we could expect from it. So far, we only had one small teaser revealing the game to the public during the Xbox Games Showcase in 2020.

Before this year’s Xbox Games Showcase, we knew that Avowed was set to be a first-person RPG experience. However, it’s being set in an already established universe. Players will find that Avowed will take place within the same universe as Obsidian Entertainment’s Pillars of Eternity.

Avowed might have had a thrilling showcase for RPG fans. It looks like another epic journey for players to take on, especially if they are fans of Obsidian Entertainment’s previous works. Since this is set in the world of Eora, fans might be eager to experience a new gameplay experience compared to the previous Pillars of Eternity titles.

We’re still waiting for more details regarding this game, but we did look into the environments, characters, and even creatures we’ll be dealing with when we start this game. But don’t expect Avowed to hit the marketplace this year. Instead, we’ll get to embark on this new RPG journey sometime in 2024. Today’s trailer showcase confirmed that the game is now slated to launch into the marketplace at some point in 2024.

Of course, when Avowed does launch into the market, you’ll find it available on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Game Pass. In the meantime, while we wait for Obsidian Entertainment to showcase this game again, you can check out the latest trailer in the video we have embedded above.
