Trackmania Turbo Races Onto PS4 And Xbox One Today

March 22, 2016 by Stephen Daly

It’ll be out for PC before the end of the week.

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Trackmania Turbo to mark the game’s release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today, you can check it out above. If you’re waiting to play the game PC, you won’t have to wait long, it’s coming to the platform on Thursday, March 24th.

The above launch trailer will give you an idea of what to expect.

An official description of the game reads:

“Trackmania offers you the ultimate arcade racing universe where everything is about reaching the perfect racing time. Test your skills in over 200 tracks, experience immediate fun by challenging your friends at home (offline split screen) or online. The competition lasts forever: design and share your own tracks with other players in the Trackbuilder!”

The game’s 200 pre-built tracks are set over four environments: International Stadium, Canyon Grand Drift, Valley Down & Dirty, and the all-new Rollercoaster Lagoon. Additional tracks can be constructed using the game’s Trackbuilder feature.

Originally set for release in 2015, Trackmania Turbo was pushed back to March 2016 when publisher Ubisoft and developer Nadeo decided to address feedback from early testers and implement numerous changes. The additional development time allowed Nadeo to enhance the game’s single player campaign and tweak its interface, which fans complained was too intrusive.

The developer adds that the extra development time was also used to improve the game’s multiplayer mode and resulted in the introduction of a new ability to race against your friends using custom tracks.

An open beta was held earlier this month as Nadeo and Ubisoft ran final tests to assess various features.
