PlayStation 5 Advert Might Be Teasing A New Uncharted Game

January 30, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

The internet is debating what a brief clip is all about.

Naughty Dog has provided some genuinely detailed and remarkable video games. They are best known for the Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises. However, what the studio might be working on now is a mystery. The future of the Uncharted franchise, in particular, has recently sparked a debate online. In addition, a brand new advertisement for the PlayStation 5 was released earlier today. With 2023 just wrapping up the month of January, it looks like obtaining these PlayStation 5 consoles is far more accessible now than before. So what better way to help generate more sales than by showcasing some of the games the PlayStation 5 could provide?

Thanks to a report from Video Game Chronicle, we’re finding a brief clip that has fans wondering about its reference. The advert, in general, offers a live-action report showcasing different video game titles. For instance, there are clips referencing Marvel’s Spider-Man, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War Ragnarok, to name just a few. But the clip some fans are wondering about the reference to is incredibly brief and appears just a couple of seconds within the compilation portion of the advert. You can find the first clip reference at about 0:42 seconds into the video.

Essentially, it shows a young woman exploring a cave and coming across an old artifact. This is prompting some fans to suspect this reference is about a game that has yet to be announced. Likewise, some assume this might be a new Uncharted video game. Now, we’re going to get into some spoilers for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, so if you haven’t played the game yet and don’t want to be spoiled, it’s best to avoid reading onward.

If you recall, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was set to be the last chapter for series protagonist Nathan Drake. But at the end of the game, we learn that Nathan Drake and his wife Elena had a daughter. During the final few moments of the game, we take control of their daughter Cassie as she uncovers some of the old artifacts from Nathan’s past. It’s here that she finally learns some of the epic adventures Nathan Drake went on. So while Nathan Drake might have officially retired from his adventures, this next potential game might be taking the role of Cassie Drake. Of course, this is all speculation as we’re still waiting to hear if we are getting a new Uncharted video game.
