The evils of the SOPA bill have been well documented over the last few weeks. The internet as you know it would be destroyed, no matter if you're American or not, and even things such as watching trailers could be made very difficult. As a result, opinions about major companies have been rapidly changed: Capcom, Sony and Microsoft have all come under fire for supporting the bill at some point over the last couple of weeks. What follows is probably the biggest example of anti-SOPA action I've seen though.
Major League Gaming have moved all of their sites away from the GoDaddy service for the latter's support of SOPA. Moving 100 domains away from GoDaddy couldn't have been the easiest of decisions, but it shows the sort of fervent attitude that this bill conjures up in people, and in companies that could be affected by it being passed.
From the MLG website:
MLG would like to officially announce that we have removed our entire network, which encompasses over 100 domains, from GoDaddy.com in response to their support of SOPA. Moving forward, we will be using Namecheap for all of our hosting needs.
MLG is firmly against both the specifics of SOPA and the philosophy behind the bill. We urge all of you to read up on the issue and draw your own conclusions.
