To celebrate the Xbox’s 10 year anniversary (which includes both the original Xbox and the 360), Microsoft has unveiled a timeline chronicling the significant events in the console’s history. The interactive timeline takes a look back at the key milestones and partnerships along with the Xbox’s evolution and development throughout the years.
Bill Gates first announced the Xbox back in March of 2000 at the GDC.
The Xbox 360 has sold over fifty-seven million units, inhibiting living-rooms, mother’s basements, dorms, and jail-cells all around the world.
The timeline is now live via the official Xbox website, http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox2001-2011. Make sure your browser is recent; I had to update mine. Also, don’t be fooled when it says you need IE9! Just update Firefox/Chrome! No need to touch that piece of software with a ten-foot pole.
