Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Receives An ESRB Rating

January 9, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Developers receive a T rating.

Respawn Entertainments, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a massive hit. Respawn Entertainment gained a strong following with this game as it told a brand new storyline set in an exciting period of the Star Wars lore. Players were tossed into a narrative set right after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Only a few years passed by, and those few remaining Jedi that managed to survive the execution order have become outcasts. Players stepped into the role of a young padawan, Cal Kestis, who was forced to hide his Jedi past to survive. With players now eagerly awaiting the sequel, we at least know what ESRB rating Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has received.

The ESRB rating for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has emerged online, and it looks as if it will receive a T rating. This is not too surprising as the first installment, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, also comes packed with a T rating as well. Unfortunately, there’s nothing too specific in the rating to highlight any information we don’t already know and suspect with this new installment. The ESRB rating simply suggests players will experience melee-style combat with lightsabers, slicing up aliens, droids, and humanoid enemies. There are general groans of pain when an enemy is hit, along with a few harsh words.

While the game receives a T rating, we’re left waiting to see what this game narrative will hold for the series protagonist, Cal Kestis, this time around. If you don’t recall the first game, the end has Cal presented with the opportunity to track down other force-sensitive individuals around the galaxy. However, rather than endanger these individuals from the Galactic Empire, Cal destroys the information and begins his own quest to fight back against the new oppressive regime.

In this upcoming installment, we know that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be set just five years after the first game’s events. We’re not sure if we’ll manage to see any familiar faces with this game compared to the films or television series based around Star Wars in the same time period. But there is plenty of speculation on what characters might show up within the campaign. We know that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released on March 17, 2023. When the game does release, you’ll find it readily available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
