Windows 10 gamers are in for a treat, as Microsoft has announced the first Forza game coming to PC. Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is exclusive to Windows 10, and it will be free.
This is not a straight port of Forza Motorsport 6 on the Xbox One. At launch, there will be 12 racing events, 20 available track configurations, and 63 cars. There is also a free-to-play element; some content is unlockable when you win events, or can be paid for.
Career Mode will feature a 12 event Showcase Tour. This is a series of videos introducing the vehicles you will be driving and starring the likes of James May and Richard Hammond. It will also have a new objective and scoring system, meant to incentivize players to compete with their friends. Lastly, a new Spotlight Series will feature regularly updated events with constantly fresh challenges to take on.
It will also serve as a technical showcase for Turn 10’s ForzaTech engine, as gamers will be able to utilize the power of DirectX 12, and output to resolutions as high as 4K.
Lastly, fans can look forward to cars like the 2014 Audi #2 Audi Team Joest R18, 2017 Ford GT, and the 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD-455, speeding in the world’s most beautiful tracks. Races will be held on six locations; Brands Hatch, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Rio de Janeiro, Sebring International Raceway, Top Gear, and Yas Marina.
Forza Motorsport 6 was originally announced for the Xbox One on January of last year, and released that September. Forza Motorsport 6: Apex will be released for Windows 10 this Spring.
