UK gaming magazine GamesTM has revealed that the next Call Of Duty game coming this holiday is Call Of Duty: Ghosts 2.
GamesTM listed the game under its “2016 Most Wanted Games” article, and listed it for a release this November.
While Activision has yet to confirm or corroborate this report, the tangential evidence seems to support it. Infinity Ward is next in line to make a Call Of Duty game. Activision did confirm in a recent investor’s call that a new Call Of Duty game is in development, and it is being developed by Infinity Ward. Lastly, the ending of Call Of Duty: Ghosts implied that there would be a sequel.
The original Call Of Duty: Ghosts had a strange release. It is the lowest rated Call Of Duty game in recent memory, and also indicated a decline in sales and popularity for the Call Of Duty franchise. However, at the same time, it was the top selling game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it was released in 2013. It also beat its closest competitor, Battlefield 4, in December PlayStation 4 sales for that year. It’s up to Infinity Ward to convince fans and critics who did not like the first game to make sure Call Of Duty Ghosts 2 surpasses it.
