Alan Wake Finally Coming to PC

December 14, 2011 by Josh Harmon

First it was, then it wasn’t, then it really wasn’t, and now it is again.

If you've got a long memory, you might recall that Remedy's open world thriller Alan Wake was once headed to the PC. Then, in 2009, after nearly four years of promotion, Microsoft pulled the plug on the Windows version, opting instead to make the game a 360 exclusive.

Nearly two years on, that plug has finally been un-pulled. This morning, a post on Remedy's official forums revealed that Alan Wake will finally be coming to the PC sometime in the first quarter of 2012 via Steam. As an added bonus, the PC version wil come bundled with both of the 360's downloadable episodes, The Signal and The Writer.

Other than that, details are currently scarce, but Remedy has offered up the first screenshot of the game running on a PC in glorious 1920 x 1200. If you're interested, you can grab it here.

Remedy's also hard at work on a downloadable follow-up to the first game, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which is scheduled to hit the Xbox Live Arcade in the same early 2012 window.
