Following last week's rumors that The Last Guardian creative director Fumito Ueda resigned his post at Sony, today brings news that the game's executive producer, Yoshifusa Hayama, has also left the company.
Hamaya, who ends a four year tenure as Vice President at Sony Computer Entertainment, will become creative director of London social games studio Bossa. In his new position, Hamaya will be be charged with overseeing the Newscorp owned developer's first 3D title, as they attempt to follow up on the success of their debut release, the Facebook-based Monstermind.
And as for the rumors of Ueda's departure? Develop is reporting that Sony has issued a company-wide ban on disussing his employment status Call it a hunch, but something tells me Sony wouldn't put out a gag order if everything were business as usual.
Neither developments bodes well for The Last Guardian, which has already suffered a year-long delay since it was first announced back in 2009. While there's no question that Team Ico has phenomenal potential — Shadow of the Colossus and Ico were some of the best games the PS2 had to offer — there's a growing mountain of evidence that the transition to the PS3 has been a rocky one.
