Serbian modern mythology would depict old men as pensioners with a stick, playing chess in the park and discussing how they would overthrow the government.
One man goes against the grain—73 year old Radivoje Stanisavljevic, a pensioner from Rocevac in Serbia, prefers to spend his time in Hyrule with a joystick in his hands.
The 73 year old farmer and pensioner resists stereotypes and indulges himself with old Nintendo games on the NES. He admits to having played through the Legend of Zelda 50 times—a game which he says he can never get bored with.
He fell in love with the Nintendo in the mid 80s. While working in France, he purchased an NES for his grandson. One day, he decided to try them out for himself and discovered how amazing they were and was immediately hooked.
"There's a certain charm in having to save the princess, vanquish evil, and discover hidden passages," said Stanisavljevic in an interview with the Serbian TV show Explosiv. I can't help but think how much he would enjoy Skyrim, a game which offers all that, and more.
He says that the game helps hone his reflexes. Having been examined by a doctor in Svilajnac, the doctor informed him that he was in perfect health. He attributes his quick reflexes to his prowess at videogames.
Stanisavljevic admits that it's difficult to get people of his age interested in videogames, especially since it takes awhile for them to warm up to the difficulty curve. Unlike others, he says he's dying to play new games.
