1600 Players Banned in Modern Warfare 3 Crackdown

November 18, 2011 by Mat Growcott

If you cheat or hack, the community is watching you and, more importantly, Robert Bowling is watching you. Prepare to be banned.

Before Modern Warfare 3's release, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer games made it perfectly clear that, through using Elite and through taking more notice of user complaints, people who misuse the game online were going to be punished. A little over a week since release, 1600 people have been punished.

Reiterating on his Twitter, Robert Bowling made it clear that "any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in MW3 will not be tolerated." While I'm sure that a few of these 1600 will crawl out of the woodwork to complain about buying a $60 and being banned 9 days later, normal players will be happy at the level of dedication the teams at Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer are putting into keeping MW3 a clean and safe place to play.
