Final Fantasy XV Mobile Revealed In Artist Resume

February 9, 2016 by Ryan Parreno

An artist has listed Final Fantasy XV Mobile in their online resume, working for Chinese game developer Changyou.

The artist indicated on his resume he worked as a background specialist for this project from April to May 2015. He also says this was on a prototype or a project in alpha.

ChangYou is a China based online game developer, which does both licensed and original games. Their biggest original project is Tian Long Ba Bu, a 3D martial arts RPG. Their most famous project in the West up until now is Warframe.

The Final Fantasy XV developer team has not been shy about admitting they outsource some of the development work to other studios. Last February, they revealed Taiwanese game company XPEC was helping them with the environments.

In fact, in a recent interview Hajime Tabata elaborated on why they are working with these game studios in other Asian regions. While companies like Square Enix have lots of experience making games, Tabata values the multi-cultural perspectives and flexibility of companies in these regions. Because of this, Asian game companies work on games that include Final Fantasy XV, Call of Duty, and Uncharted. Tabata says this kind of experience and flexibility is an asset.

Square Enix makes their own mobile games, for the Japanese market. If there really is a Final Fantasy XV Mobile in development, however, it seems possible they tapped Asian game companies like ChangYou to help make it for them, due to their experience with multiplayer games.

Final Fantasy XV will be released in 2016 on PlayStati0n 4 and Xbox One. Square Enix will be revealing more details at the Uncovered Final Fantasy XV event next month.
